List products on eBay and Etsy from Airtable

Listing automation turns one product record in Airtable into draft listings on eBay and Etsy, each shaped to that marketplace’s categories and required details. Photos come from the product’s Google Drive folder, and a person checks and publishes each draft.

From one product record to draft listings on eBay and Etsy.

  1. Step 01

    Product ready

A product record in Airtable is marked ready, with its SKU, price, condition, quantity and photo folder.

  2. Step 02

    Photos gathered

Collect the photos from the product’s Google Drive folder in the order you set.

  3. Step 03

    Details mapped

Map the record to each marketplace’s categories, required item details and shipping policies.

  4. Step 04

    Drafts created

Create a draft listing on Etsy and an unpublished offer on eBay through their APIs.

  5. Step 05

    Checked and published

A person checks both drafts and publishes them, and the listing IDs are saved back to Airtable.

The result

New stock goes live on both marketplaces without typing it twice.

Each product creates one listing per marketplace, keyed to its SKU, so a repeated run updates the draft rather than adding another. Nothing is published until a person has checked it.

Before we connect it.

Where this is useful

Useful for vintage sellers, makers and refurbishers who list many one-off or small-batch items and type the same details into each marketplace. A sensible first version covers the one or two categories you list most often, then adds others once the mappings are settled.

What we need to connect

  1. 01Developer access to the eBay and Etsy APIs for your seller accounts, with shipping and returns policies already set up.
  2. 02An Airtable base with one record per product, including SKU, price, condition, quantity and the details each category needs.
  3. 03A Google Drive folder for each product, with the photos in the order you want them shown.

What needs careful handling

Each marketplace asks for different required details by category, such as brand, material or condition, so missing fields are flagged before a draft is created. Etsy and eBay have their own rules on what can be listed, including Etsy’s criteria for handmade and vintage items, so a person checks eligibility rather than the automation. When an item sells on one marketplace it needs to come off the other, which is where order and stock sync takes over.

Questions people ask.

Does this keep stock in step after listing?

Listing and stock are separate jobs. This flow creates the listings, and a sync between channels keeps quantities right once items start selling, so the last one isn’t sold twice.

What about Amazon?

Amazon listings work differently, usually matching an existing product page rather than creating a new one, so they are often handled separately. The same product record can feed Amazon later if it suits your range.
