Announce new Eventbrite events by email and social

Event announcement automation starts when an event is published on Eventbrite and prepares the launch from the listing. It drafts an email to opted-in contacts who came to similar events and social posts for Buffer, then schedules them once a person approves.

An example of how the studio would build it. No live services are connected.

From a published event to an announcement in every channel.

  1. Step 01

    Event published

Eventbrite reports a newly published event, with its title, date, venue, category and ticket link.

  2. Step 02

    Audience found

Find Mailchimp contacts tagged with similar past events who agreed to hear from you, using the event’s category.

  3. Step 03

    Drafts written

Draft a Mailchimp email and posts for Buffer, covering Bluesky, Instagram and Facebook, from the listing details.

  4. Step 04

    Drafts approved

A person checks dates, prices and wording, then approves the email and each post.

  5. Step 05

    Launch scheduled

Schedule the email and posts with tracked links, and pause anything still queued if the event changes or is cancelled.

The result

Each event reaches the people most likely to book, without retyping the details for every channel.

Only contacts who opted in to hear from you are emailed. If the event is cancelled, postponed or unpublished on Eventbrite, anything still scheduled is paused for a person to review.

Before we connect it.

Where this is useful

Useful for music venues, comedy nights, breweries, workshop hosts and charities that publish events often and announce them inconsistently. A sensible first version drafts one email and one post per event, then adds reminders as the date gets closer.

What we need to connect

  1. 01Eventbrite access to your organisation’s events and attendees, with a webhook for newly published events.
  2. 02A Mailchimp audience with tags for past events and marketing consent, plus a Buffer account connected to your social profiles.
  3. 03Event categories that make sense to your audience, your house style for announcements and the person who approves them.

What needs careful handling

Eventbrite’s checkout can ask attendees whether they want to hear from the organiser, and only those who agreed are added to Mailchimp for marketing. Event details often change after publishing, so drafts are rebuilt if the listing is edited before approval, and scheduled posts are paused if the event is cancelled or postponed. The social networks and scheduling features you can use depend on your Buffer plan, so the setup matches what your account supports.

Questions people ask.

Doesn’t Eventbrite already email my followers?

Eventbrite can notify people who follow your organiser profile, and it has its own email tools. This approach suits you if your main list already lives in Mailchimp and you want each announcement to reach people based on the events they have been to before.

Why include Bluesky?

Only if your audience is there. Buffer can publish to several networks, including Bluesky, so adding or dropping a channel is a setting rather than a rebuild.
