Public sector tender alerts from Contracts Finder

Public sector tender alerts read newly published contract notices from UK procurement data, such as Contracts Finder and Find a Tender. They filter the notices against the work you do and the areas you cover, then add matches to a bid tracker and share a shortlist with your team.

An example of how the studio would build it. No live services are connected.

From newly published notices to a shortlist worth bidding for.

  1. Step 01

    Daily check

Each morning, read the notices published since the last check from the public procurement data services.

  2. Step 02

    Notices filtered

Keep notices that match your keywords, procurement codes, region and contract value, and drop any whose deadline has passed.

  3. Step 03

    Tracker updated

Add each match to an Airtable bid tracker with its buyer, value, deadline and a link to the full notice.

  4. Step 04

    Shortlist posted

Post a short summary of new matches to a Microsoft Teams channel for the people who decide what to bid for.

  5. Step 05

    Deadlines watched

Remind the owner of each tender the team chooses to pursue as clarification and submission deadlines approach.

The result

Contracts you could win, found without searching portals every day.

It only reads published notices and never registers interest, submits documents or contacts a buyer. Each notice is stored once by its reference, so an updated notice changes the existing row rather than appearing twice.

Before we connect it.

Where this is useful

Useful for cleaning contractors, facilities firms, caterers, IT providers and agencies that want public sector work but don’t have time to search portals every day. A sensible first version sends a daily shortlist and lets a person decide which notices go into the tracker.

What we need to connect

  1. 01Access to public notice data, which Contracts Finder and Find a Tender both publish for anyone to search and download.
  2. 02A clear description of the work you want, including keywords, Common Procurement Vocabulary codes, regions, contract value range and any frameworks you already hold.
  3. 03An Airtable base or similar tracker, a Microsoft Teams channel for the shortlist, and the person who owns each bid or no-bid decision.

What needs careful handling

Notices are often updated, extended or cancelled after they are first published, so each one is stored by its reference and its row is updated instead of duplicated. Keyword filters miss notices that describe the same work in different words, so the filters are reviewed after the first few weeks against notices the team found by other means. Some buyers advertise through their own portals or frameworks first, so the alerts widen your view but don’t replace the registrations you already have.

Questions people ask.

Will this find every tender in my sector?

It finds what is published to the national notice services and matches your filters. Some opportunities sit on buyer portals, frameworks or dynamic purchasing systems, so it works best alongside any registrations you already hold.

Can it write the bid for us?

No. It finds and organises opportunities, and the decision to bid and the bid itself stay with your team. Once a tender is chosen, it can remind the owner of key dates so nothing is missed.
